QuantWare names Bart Filius CFO, effective 12 October 2026
Dutch quantum processor maker QuantWare appoints Bart Filius, who led Galapagos through its Nasdaq IPO, as CFO and board member from 12 October 2026.
QuantWare, the Delft-based maker of quantum processors, announces that Bart Filius will join as chief financial officer on 12 October 2026. He will also join the company's Board of Directors. The company announced the appointment on 6 October 2026.
Filius led Galapagos through its Nasdaq IPO and a $5bn collaboration deal with Gilead, according to QuantWare. The company says he brings more than two decades of financial and executive leadership in high-growth, science-driven companies, including nearly nine years at Galapagos.
QuantWare gives this context for the hire: it closed a $178M (€152M) Series B in May 2026, is building KiloFab, its industrial-scale fabrication facility in the Netherlands, and has grown to 50+ customers across 20 countries. It says it is scaling industrial production of its VIO quantum processors.
QuantWare does not say it is planning an IPO. The release describes Filius's role as steering the company's financial strategy as it commercializes its processors. The company has previously unveiled a processor it says is 100x denser than rivals and said it will build the Netherlands' first quantum chip factory in Delft.
