NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS, Inc. (formerly NTT Communications) and Classiq Technologies G.K., the Japanese subsidiary of Classiq, sign a memorandum of understanding for a strategic business partnership to speed up enterprise adoption of quantum computing in Japan. The announcement is dated Tokyo, October 8, 2026.

NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS will propose and sell the Classiq quantum software development platform. With Classiq, it will help enterprises identify, develop and validate quantum use cases. Classiq will supply the platform plus expertise and technical support on quantum algorithms and quantum software.

Through joint customer engagements, the two companies plan to assess business challenges where the platform can be applied and to support the development and execution of quantum algorithms. They also plan to build enterprise quantum readiness and facilitate access to quantum computing resources.

Classiq says its platform combines agentic AI interfaces, its Qmod high-level modeling language and a synthesis engine that turns functional models into optimized circuits. It supports simulators and superconducting, neutral-atom, trapped-ion and photonic hardware, and users can run algorithms across them without rewriting code.

NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS says it serves customers in manufacturing, financial services, logistics and the public sector. It is also working on quantum-related validation, including a wide-area quantum-secure communications network using quantum key distribution and security based on post-quantum cryptography. It announced on June 30, 2026 that construction had begun on a roughly 600 km QKD network across Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka.

The release names no customers, pilots, financial terms or timelines. The channel is the news: a major Japanese telecom and IT services provider becomes a reseller for Classiq. For Classiq, which has recently raised over $200M in total funding, it adds a sales route in Japan. Whether it produces customer projects is not yet shown.
